Reflux? no reflux...

Its official. After a relatively easy MCU (coz i was not the one who had to be sedated and inserted with a catherter!), the results show that Declan has NO REFLUX!

However, the cause for his recent case of UTI was very likely due to a bladder diverticulum...I tried to google that but only managed a few vague hits...Pediatrician says that its basically a small pouch on his bladder that catches some urine(instead of all the urine flowing out of his body) and that little pouch of urine could lead to UTI. There is nothing much we can do except hope that Declan, being a boy and will pee standing up, will outgrow this condition soon. So for now, we hope that the UTI was a one-off incident but we still have to monitor him especially if he gets a fever that has no other symptoms (such as sore throat, cough, etc). This is probably a bad explanation but this will have to do for now.

Meanwhile, he is loving his cereal and gobbling it all down. We started feeding him recently with a normal plastic spoon. However, he'd give loud impatient grunts coz the next spoonful comes too slow for his liking. Luckily, i had a Boon Inc. Squirt Baby Food Dispensing Spoon which allows us to store his cereal in the fat handle of the spoon and by a gentle squeeze, the cereal comes out. Even my Mother-in-law who is skeptical of all the baby tools that i "waste" money on agrees that its a good buy!
